Therapy Approach for Teens and Adults
The heart of my work is helping clients transform their relationships—with others and with themselves—into healthy, empowering, and meaningful ones. My style is relational, curious, and direct. I integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches, combining behavioral methods with psychodynamic theory so that I can help clients set attainable goals while also exploring deeper, family-of-origin patterns when relevant.
I tailor treatment to each client, working collaboratively to discover their emotional story-their thoughts, feelings, and needs in order to support growth and development.
Michal is a licensed clinical social worker who has been providing therapy for adolescents, adults, couples, families, and groups for over two decades. She received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Tel Aviv University in Israel and her master’s degree from the University of Washington School of Social Work.
She has extensive experience as a therapist in outpatient mental health settings, focusing on trauma, social justice, and oppression. Michal is currently completing her second year at the SPSI Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program and participates in a weekly Modern Psychoanalytic Lens group for mental health therapists.
Michal integrates feminist theory and a social justice lens into her work, entering therapeutic relationships with cultural humility. She works with clients of all ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and neurodivergent experiences. Her therapeutic stance centers on providing grounded support, insight, and compassion.
She is informed by research-based therapy methods including anti-oppressive psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP), narrative therapy, and attachment theory. She is also a certified Gottman educator in both Bringing Baby Home (BBH) for expecting and new parents and The 7 Principles Program for Couples.
