Autism Spectrum (ASD) Social Communication Group

Honoring neurodiversity while building meaningful connection.

This group is designed for children and teens on the autism spectrum who want support with social communication, emotional understanding, and peer relationships — in a respectful, neurodivergent-affirming environment.

The focus is not on masking or changing who a child is, but on building understanding, choice, and communication tools that support authentic connection. Differences in communication styles, sensory needs, and emotional expression are normalized and respected.

Focus areas

  • Social communication and reciprocal interaction

  • Understanding social cues and perspective-taking

  • Emotional awareness and regulation

  • Navigating friendships and group dynamics

  • Self-advocacy and expressing needs

  • Flexibility and coping with change

Groups are intentionally small and thoughtfully composed to support safety, predictability, and meaningful participation. Sessions are structured, clear, and paced to meet the needs of the group.

Parents are included as partners in the process, receiving guidance to support communication and emotional understanding at home.
