ADHD Social Skills Camp; Emotional Regulation Group

A group of children in jackets pulling on a rope in a grassy outdoor field, participating in a group activity or game.

Supporting attention, flexibility, and connection — not compliance.

This group is designed for children and teens with ADHD who experience challenges with

emotional regulation, impulsivity, flexibility, and peer interactions. Many participants are bright,

creative, and insightful — yet struggle to pause, organize their thoughts, or navigate social

situations in the moment.

Rather than focusing on “fixing” behavior, this group emphasizes understanding before

intervention. We explore how ADHD affects emotions, communication, and relationships, and

build skills that support regulation, self-awareness, and confidence.

Focus areas

  • Emotional regulation and frustration tolerance

  • Impulse control and flexibility

  • Social communication and turn-taking

  • Managing overwhelm and emotional intensity

  • Executive functioning skills such as planning, organization, and follow-through

  • Strengthening self-esteem and self-understanding

The group offers structured practice, movement-aware activities when appropriate, and clear

expectations — while honoring individual differences in attention and energy.

Parent collaboration is an important part of the process, helping families support skill-building at

home and reduce daily power struggles.
